STEELE MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER OBSERVES NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY

February is National Heart Awareness Month; and, in observance Steele Memorial Medical Center supported the National Wear Red Day on February 3, 2012. During lunch time a record total of 52 SMMC employee’s, volunteers, and community members participated in a healthy hike by walking down Main Street. Afterward, the participants had a heart healthy lunch consisting of tomato soup and sandwiches. National Wear Red Day is an annual event observed by the outreach department of SMMC to promote and support community awareness regarding the importance of heart health.
