Lowell “Andy” Anderson

 

Lowell “Andy” Anderson, 88 years of age passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012 at his home in Elk Bend, Idaho.  Private services were held at the Salmon Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Lloyd Shaw Post 67 of Salmon and the Idaho Honor Guard.  Arrangements by Jones & Casey Funeral Home of Salmon, Idaho.

            Lowell was born on September 7, 1923 the son of Lloyd and Hazel (Roby) Anderson.  He grew up in California and graduated from High School in Long Beach, California.  Andy joined the Army Air Force in 1943 where he served in the European African Theater as a bomber crewman.  He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to Anaheim, California. 

            He was employed by Essex Wire in Anaheim for several years and then worked for AFO Pluming where he ultimately purchased the business when the owner retired and worked until his own retirement in 1985. 

            Andy was united in marriage to Bernice Hall on December 18, 1959 in Fullerton, California.  Bernice and Andy moved to Elk Bend in 1986 following his retirement where he enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting and especially fishing the Salmon River.  Bernice passed away in 1992.

            He is survived by his three step-sons:  Robert and Margie Maxson of Nampa, Idaho, Dennis and Nancy Maxson of San Francisco, California, Charles and Debbie Maxson of Bakersfield, California; nephew Larry and Patricia Comstock of Elk Bend, Idaho; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

            Andy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and four sisters:  Betty Shipman, Gladys Meinert, Margie Kaiser and Bobbie Comstock.
