 The Steele Memorial Auxiliary met on Monday, January 9, with twelve members in attendance: Roberta Fadness, Mona Sellegren, Alice Miller, Juanita Grkovic, Peg Hevel, Norma McFarland, Pat McKinney, Carol Anderson, Joan Schwarz, Barbara Hill, Carole Sheppeard, and Betty Runnels.

The Auxiliary appointed a committee, comprised of Roberta Fadness, Mona Sellegren, and Barbara Hill, to nominate members for the following leadership roles: President; Vice President; Secretary; and Treasurer. The Auxiliary members will elect candidates and vote prior to the March meeting.

The ladies reported that they will attend the “Walk for Health Event,” organized by Steele Memorial, commemorating February as National Heart Month. They will meet in the lobby of the hospital at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, February 3.

In honor of the first baby born in 2012, Auxiliary member, Anna Vihlen, donated a handmade baby quilt. It was reported that Carole Sheppeard presented the gift on behalf of the Auxiliary to Landon Daniel Delaney born at 9:12 am on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 and his proud parents, Mindi Atkins and James Delaney. Baby Landon weighed 6 lbs, 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long.

The next Auxiliary meeting is planned for Monday, February 13 at 12:30 p.m. in the Steele Memorial conference room.
