$1,000 Reward Offered for Information on Campground Vandalism
Challis, ID - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Idaho Falls District (IFD) is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the individual(s) involved with vandalizing the Joe T. Fallini Campground located at the Mackay Reservoir around February 2, 2012.
"This is a very unfortunate situation," said Todd Kuck, Challis field manager. "It's clear that these individuals intentionally meant to destroy this site." Two concrete drinking fountains were destroyed; multiple signs including a stop sign were knocked down; kiosks were damaged; and chains were cut. The Challis Field Office estimates it will cost over $6,000 to repair the facilities.
The Joe T. Fallini Campground is one of the premier facilities in south east Idaho, and the Challis Field Office spends a good deal of time taking care of the location. Vandalism of public lands and facilities are an impact to all citizens and is unacceptable.
