The Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office has submitted a grant application to the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation January 25th, 2012, requesting funds to purchase a new jet boat which will be used for boating safety patrols on Williams Lake and the Salmon River, and will be available for search and rescue also.

On Thursday, January 26, the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office, along with Salmon PD, drove to the Twin Falls, Idaho area, where two dogs were purchased for K-9 use. Both dogs are Belgian Shepherd Dogs, commonly known as Malinois (pronounced maelinwa) are brothers.

At approximately 1254 hours on December 31st, 2011, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a 911 call from the Doering residence on Briney Creek advising that they had just watched a vehicle run off the road and go into the Salmon River
