The Good Lovelies coming to Salmon

Join the Salmon Arts Council for a Dancin’ Good Time. Funny and upbeat, with just a pinch of sass, the Good Lovelies‘ textbook three-part harmonies, constant instrument swapping and witty on-stage banter have enlivened the folk music landscape since they joined forces in 2006 for their first show at Toronto’s funky Gladstone Hotel.

Historical Society presented the Sister Alfreda Award

On January 3, 2012 the Lemhi County Historical Society was presented the Sister Alfreda Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to the museum that has shown to provide outstanding service in preserving Idaho’s history. Note from lemhiweb: See the video of the event.

Salmon School representatives, others visit Darby Fuels for Schools Project

Last week, Superintendent of Schools Joey Foote and school board member Dorrie Prange accompanied members of the Lemhi County Forest Restoration Group on a tour of the Darby, Montana school district’s wood heat system.

Mary Cerise, Salmon Arts Council Director, “The beautiful cinematography and videography in these films really do transport you to another place. While some of the themes are really relatable to our area, some take you to other worlds. The artistic quality of these films is outstanding and showcase independent films at their best; we are so pleased to partner with SVS on another fun and engaging community event.”

Historical Society Receives State’s Highest Museum Honor

The Lemhi County Historical Society in Salmon will receive the 2011Sister Alfreda Elsensohn Award for Outstanding Service. The Award will be presented on Tuesday, January 3 rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Lemhi County Historical Museum at 210 Main Street in Salmon. Celebratory refreshments will be served.
