A follow-up meeting on the announced reclamation plans for the North Fork Ranger District has clarified exactly which roads will be reclaimed and why.

FEBRUARY STEELE MEMORIAL AUXILIARY ACTIVITY UPDATE

The Auxiliary board members nominated and elected the following members for leadership roles: Norma Clore as President; Mona Sellegren as Vice President; Barbara Hill as Secretary; and Carol Anderson as Treasurer. The newly elected officers will be installed for a one-year term and take office during the March meeting.

Reward offered for information on vandalism

The Lemhi County Sheriff, Lynn Bowerman, is asking the public for help in solving a vandalism to one of Lemhi County's patrol vehicles. On the evening of February 25th or the early morning hours of the 26th, Sunday, Deputy Matt LaMont reported his patrol vehicle vandalized

Mihalka donation to hospital

Our family and friends recently experienced the loss of a Wife, Mother, and Friend, Marianne Mihalka. During her stay at Steele Memorial Hospital, we were deeply moved by the love and professionalism shown by all of the hospital staff.

Money well spent by Denise Shirmer

We live in Salmon and also own land in Fremont County, thus we pay Lemhi County and Freemont County taxes. I rarely complain about paying taxes but can be very vocal when it comes to how my tax dollars are spent. Spending my hard earned money for wars isn’t my favorite.

Steelhead fishing report 2.27.12

The steelhead fishing this last weekend on the Upper Salmon River appeared to be highly variable. Anglers were having good success on Saturday, especially downstream of North Fork in section 15, but by Sunday the fishing had cooled off considerably. The creel data for this weekend was

The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session pursuant to recess of January 23, 2012 with Richard Snyder, Chairman, R.E. Cope and John Jakovac present. The minutes of the meeting of January 23, 2012 were approved. The following claims were approved for payment.

Forest Service Temporary Seasonal employment

The Salmon-Challis National Forest Weed Management Program is looking for qualified, interested individuals to fill temporary seasonal (maximum employment period of six months) Weed Management Technician positions.  The positions will be stationed at either the Salmon-Cobalt Ranger District in Salmon, Idaho or the Middle Fork Ranger District in Challis, Idaho.*
