Salmon-Challis National Forest Seeking Temporary Job Applicants

The Salmon-Challis National Forest is planning to fill a temporary, Office Automation position in Salmon, Idaho. This position is intermittent (call when needed). Some of the duties for this position would be to greet walk-in customers, collect money, and answer and route phone calls. Applicant must possess a valid state driver’s license and pass a background investigation.

Canada Lynx Sighted on Salmon-Challis National Forest

Idaho Fish and Game biologists confirmed a recent sighting of a Canada lynx on the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The sighting is the first direct evidence of lynx presence on the forest since 1991. Idaho Fish and Game collected hair and scat samples from the animal to determine its origin.

Becoming Cisco

Florez detailed who made the elements of his Cisco Kid look: The costume was fashioned in Nashville, Tenn., by a man who made outfits for Elvis; the sombrero was made by Roy Jackson in Salmon, Idaho; the boots in Phoenix by David Espinosa; and the spurs in Flagstaff by Perry Shirley. "All these guys, when I told them what I'm doing, they were all excited about being able to make my Cisco outfit," he added.

BLM Seeks Nominations to Resource Advisory Councils

IDAHO FALLS, ID-- The Bureau of Land Management in Idaho announced today that it is seeking public nominations for five open positions on its Idaho Falls District Resource Advisory Council (RAC), which advises the BLM on public land issues. The BLM will consider the nominations until March 12, 2012.


New K-9's for County and Salmon City

On Thursday, January 26, the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office, along with Salmon PD, drove to the Twin Falls, Idaho area, where two dogs were purchased for K-9 use. Both dogs are Belgian Shepherd Dogs, commonly known as Malinois (pronounced maelinwa) are brothers.

Salmon's High School Age - Midget Hockey Team hosting their Home Tournament February 10-12th.

Salmon's High School Age Hockey team is also their Midget Hockey team, Salmon only has one High School and barely enough players for one hockey team, let alone a Midget & High School team. So just to clarify; In Salmon when an age group is mentioned, it does NOT necessarily mean the team is sponsored, or supported by the school that houses that age group another example would be High School Rodeo Team or the Elementary soccer teams.
